On Tuesday night, after Senate Republicans came after Tucker Carlson for his reckless and entirely false claims that the Jan. 6 insurrection was really more of a sightseeing misadventure, Carlson went on the air and slammed people like Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for “living in splendor on Chinese money.” In fact, he upped the recklessness of this endeavor by saying people need to “keep a list” of politicians that oppose Carlson.
And that same night, while Carlson was waging a war against his own political party and working assiduously to line himself up with the MAGA wing of the Republican Party, The Washington Post released a new story about Carlson and his private texts.
According to the report, newly released digital communications in the $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News by Dominion Voting Systems show more of the behind the scenes skulking and plotting going on in the days and weeks after Donald Trump lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden, along with Carlson’s texts to “an unknown Fox employee”:
“We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights. I truly can’t wait.”
“I hate him passionately.”
(Do you hear anything? That’s my heart fluttering.)
Carlson has been running a lot of hot interference these days, even tiptoeing around the third rail of Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit against his broadcast company Fox News, and saying that the elections weren’t “conducted” correctly.
It sounds like his recent antics may be a case of Carlson protesting too much. But maybe that’s just noise to try and drown out this story.
What a miserable group of people.

Markos and Kerry luxuriate in the battle going on between Donald Trump’s ascending fascism and Mitch McConnell’s disappearing neocon establishment. The fighting has become much sharper recently as the MAGA-media outlet Fox News has traveled further and further away from reality.
