A poll in a current rec’d diary has 85% for Diane Feinstein’s resignation. She absolutely should not, absent an ironclad agreement by the Rs that her replacement would immediately be seated on the Judiciary Committee with the power to vote on Judges.
On April 19 I wrote here: Resignation does nothing. The only solution is for DiFi to show up. The reason for this is Republicans have refused to accept a temporary or even permanent replacement on the Committee for the purpose of confirming Judges.
In April, Lindsay Graham said he would not continue this if DiFi resigned. Do you trust him? I don’t. And neither does DiFi, who wrote (or her staff wrote) five days ago:
While the Senate Judiciary Committee has advanced eight strong nominees during my absence, I’m disappointed that Republicans on the committee are blocking a few from moving forward. I’m confident that when I return to the Senate, we will be able to move the remaining qualified nominees out of committee quickly and to the Senate floor for a vote.
So DiFi patriotically dragged her shingles afflicted 89 year old self back to DC because the R judiciary members and other R pricks desperately want to stop any judicial nominations.
So f$&k those guys. DiFi would be well within her rights to kick them in the balls.
