This morning is “coolish”—a word that means not brutally hot for it being so early, but really not overly comfortable either. But it also holds the promise of autumn somewhere in the feel and smell of these few brief hours. I will be around sporadically this morning as I have meetings on site at a Coast Guard station a couple hours from here.
While working on federal projects is seldom pleasant (mostly due to copious paperwork requirements and unhappy staff), the Coast Guard is an exception to that rule. There’s still the paperwork, of course, but from the station chief down the staff are helpful, bright, and professional. Such projects are often complicated, but always interesting and challenging. Today we meet to discuss the installation of communication lines among several buildings and the new covered boat dock we are about to finish.
Anyway, that was a long-winded explanation of my day ahead. I hope you too are getting the feeling that fall is not just a rumor and that your day is productive and satisfying.
