Evangelical charged with raping a child
The authorities in Rutherford County, TN, have arrested a traveling Texas evangelical, Benjamin Garlick, 32, and his wife Shaantel, 29, for sex crimes committed against a young child.
They accused him of five counts of aggravated rape of a child, five counts of aggravated sexual battery, soliciting sexual exploitation of a minor under 13, and continuous sexual abuse of a child. Despite the threat of a government shutdown, the House has headed home. After a 6-week vacation, which included the first week in September, followed by a 3-day week, the House has wrapped up a 4-day week so they can celebrate a 4-day weekend.
Assuming an 8-hour day, Congress is in session for 848 hours. This lack of hustle means the taxpayers compensate them $205 an hour + benefits.

NYT's David Brooks seems to confirm he likes drinking. Trying to make a point about the economy, Brooks tweeted that he had had a $78 meal at Newark Airport. Social media detectives analyzed his tweet and identified the restaurant as the Smokehouse Restaurant in Newark Airport Terminal A.
Further research showed the burger and fries cost $17 a fact confirmed by the restaurant, who tweeted their take on Brooks’ down-time editorializing. “Looks like someone was knocking back some serious drinks — bar tab was almost 80% and he’s complaining about the cost of his meal. Matt Schlapp, the American Conservative Union’s Chairman, has not been on Fox since January, His banishment came after some poor staffer, who was required to chauffer the dipsomaniac from bar to bar, accused Matt of “aggressively fondling” his crotch. I suspect it is not the sex angle but the gay part that has rendered the closeted — or equal opportunity — dick-grabber a persona non grata on the OG RW propaganda channel.
