You may have already seen the new Julia Roberts/Ethan Hawke/Mahershala Ali/Myha’la Herrold film titled Leave the World Behind. In a dystopian vision, a massive cyberattack cripples the U.S. How will four adults and two teenagers isolated at an estate on Long Island, deal with, and survive, the apocalyptic chaos, while being forced to confront their own personal demons? It’s dark. It’s quite well acted (Julia Roberts who plays against type is superb). It’s worth a looksee. And if it matters to you, the film has a 76% on Rotten Tomatoes.
To conspiracy theorists the film is much more than it might seem! It’s a way for Barack and Michelle Obama whose production team (Higher Ground Productions) produced the film, to acclimate people “to psychologically condition the population to accept a globe altering event (secretly done by the elites),” the Daily Dot’s David Covucci recently reported.
Covucci, the Daily Dot’s Politics and Technology editor writes a weekly column called “Deplatformed.” Covucci’s “Deplatformed” goes where few want to venture -- the deepest and darkest corners of the Internet -- to describe the political discourse going on in those sites. In a recent column, Covucci, citing the conspiracy site 4chan, discussed the theory batted around by conspiracists that vaccinated air traffic controllers are subject to brain fog which is causing an uptick in near misses at our nation’s airports. Covucci also wrote about a the QAnon conspiracy that, “there are underground tunnels in New York City where hordes of sexually abused children are hidden and trafficked just below the bustling city.”
The conspiracy theory that grabbed me in Covucci’s report is the one involving former president Barack Obama’s deal with Netflix to produce documentaries and feature films.
While many people recognize Obama’s interest in cultural issues, i.e. the book list and music playlist he puts together each year, some believe that Obama is up to something “more nefarious, a secret influence campaign with corporate Hollywood and the deep state to steer the American populace.”
Covucci notes that a post on Donald Trump’s Truth Social claims that Leave the World Behind is an example of Obama “steering the message with ‘predictive programming,’ using the fictional movie to declare future intent, to psychologically condition the population to accept a globe altering event (secretly done by the elites).”
In addition, Covucci writes, “a new fear is brewing.” Obama’s production team “embedded a secret frequency in the movie.”
“BREAKING: Video editing expert discovers ‘Low Frequency Infrasound’ embedded in Obama’s ‘Leave The World Behind’ movie,” proclaim a number of on Truth Social.
According to Covucci, “The low-resolution footage, two podcasters, Bonnie and John Mitchell, with a copy of Jurassic Park, to show that when they torrented the movie, it came as two files, an audio and visual one. But the download for Leave the World Behind, they say, had ‘four audio files,’ one of which was a weapon, a ‘low frequency’ infrasonic wave.”
Covucci reports that “according to Forbidden Knowledge TV, ‘Bonnie says that the film has next to no plot or character development, leading her to suspect that the film’s release is a form of mass Satanic Ritual and its purpose is to deploy this infrasound weapon at viewers. John agrees and he describes the film as, ‘A shell with a weapon stuck in it.’”
“Now I’m hearing that people are feeling strange during and after viewing the Deep State psyop movie Leave the World Behind. There are reports of feeling dizzy, foggy, disoriented — leading some to suspect the movie was weaponized and has mind-control elements in it. Would anyone be surprised if the CIA did that?? I’m guessing they’ve been putting creepy subliminals, frequencies, MKUltra triggers and God knows what else into our entertainment and media for decades.”
Leave the World Behind is based on Rumann Alam’s 2010 novel of the same name and the film is directed by Sam Esmail. Esmail, who recognizes that conspiracy theories are swirling around the film, said that Obama’s notes came after the script was formulated.
He told Netflix’s Tudum: A Global Fan Event, that “the impact of technology on society is something that I’ve always been fascinated by because I really do think it dramatically changed the way we interact and evolve as people.”
“Because President Obama is such a movie lover, he really focused his notes [about the film] on trying to cinematically portray what was in the book in a really interesting way. The book was on his reading list, it’s one of his favorites, and he really wanted to do justice by the book and this theme about mistrust and this being a cautionary tale about what could happen if we don’t have that community or bond that holds us together,” the director explained in a Forbes interview. “So he really gave notes with regards to character, empathy, and also the disaster elements. It was really across the board. And again, it was all in pursuit of making it into a good movie. That was his main focus.”
“I think the silly thing about the whole thing is President Obama really came on a couple of months before we started shooting, so the script had basically been written and done,” he continued. “He obviously gave notes on the script, but the bones of the story and the sequences were already written. I would just say they’re pretty wrong in terms of his signaling. It had nothing to do with that.”
