According to the non-partisan group The Civics Center, only 45.9% of 18 year olds in PA are registered to vote. That translates into 80-90,000 young people who won’t be able to vote if they are not registered by the October 21 Deadline.
Some other states are doing much better. For example, in Michigan 81% of 18 year olds are registered.
A recent poll by the Harvard Kennedy Institute of Politics shows:
Harris is leading Trump 64% to 32% among likely voters in a two-way hypothetical scenario with her advantage expanding as young people become more engaged in the electoral process.
It’s a no-brainer to have as many as possible of this group registered. Here’s what you can do:
1. Join a Phone Bank tomorrow or Thursday with Field Team Six.
2. For high schools, see this post from The Civics Center.
3. Here’s a list of all or almost all Pennsylvania colleges and universities, from Allegheny to Wilson. Do you have any connection to any of them? Student, parent, alumnus, friend other relative? If they’re a student contact them and ask if they are registered. Otherwise, find out what the college is doing to register students in the next week.
