The Pentagon confirmed Sunday that it has authorized the deployment of an advanced antimissile system and around 100 U.S. troops to Israel as the Netanyahu government prepares to attack Iran — a move that’s expected to provoke an Iranian response.
The decision announced on Sunday comes as senior Pentagon officials have been debating whether the increased U.S. military presence in the region is containing the war, as they had hoped, or inflaming it.
Several Pentagon officials have expressed concern in recent weeks that Israel has been waging an increasingly aggressive campaign against the Lebanese militia Hezbollah, Iran’s most powerful proxy, knowing that an armada of American warships and dozens of attack planes stand ready to help blunt any Iranian response.

As Israel tries to drag the U.S. into a war against Iran, the Biden Administration willingly complies. This not only places U.S. military personnel in danger, it has the effect of emboldening Israel further. To wipe out Gaza, expand the invasion of Lebanon, attack Syria, escalate with Iran, and who knows what other countries are on the list in pursuit of a Greater Israel.
Biden’s foreign policy in the Mideast has been nothing short of diasterous.
