For 3 years, there has been an ongoing debate over whether Twitter should continue to be utilized by people of goodwill or if it was helping support a racist billionaire xenophobe. Will this break through?
Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and a linchpin of U.S. space efforts, has been in regular contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin since late 2022.
The discussions, confirmed by several current and former U.S., European and Russian officials, touch on personal topics, business and geopolitical tensions.
At one point, Putin asked the billionaire to avoid activating his Starlink satellite internet service over Taiwan as a favor to Chinese leader Xi Jinping, said two people briefed on the request.

I know it may be crazy talk, but it seems to me that a man with access to US defense contracts and controls satellite access for key US defense assets shouldn’t be on a buddy buddy talking basis with a man trying to conquer an ally and supporting another leader looking into doing the same thing to another country. That seems like the definition of a security risk and likely something that would necessitate a revocation of any security clearances at a minimum.
Furthermore, Democrats should not have a reliance on the owner of a massive media network who is in cohoots with dictators across the world.
The result of this now open relationship is a disinformation campaign possibly more massive than any in the history of the world that is downplayed by the media as a man just making mistakes.

How Elon Musk amplified content from a suspected Russian election interference plot
Musk, apparently unaware of the company’s Russia funding source, engaged with content from Tenet Media and its creators at least 60 times.
Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) has played a major role in allowing Russian propaganda about Ukraine to reach more people than before the war began, according to a study released this week by the European Commission, the governing body of the European Union.
And well after it is now reported that Musk was speaking with Putin, he made this statement which would clearly be a lie.

The tech mogul made the announcement after he was challenged by a user of the platform, who pointed out to him that former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev had called for the genocide of Ukraine.
"To @elonmusk Is this a violation of [terms of service] calling for genocide of #Ukraine. How is a terrorist state verified. Why did you allow #Russian leaders back on the platform lifting #Twitters regulations against #Putin and #Russian officials. Why are you not abiding by sanctions," the user on April 8 asked the entrepreneur, capturing a post by Medveded.
"I’m told Putin called me a war criminal for helping Ukraine, so he’s not exactly my best friend," Musk responded on April 9. "All news is to some degree propaganda. Let people decide for themselves
Let me say it again. Elon Musk is not a candidate for anything. If the Justice department is not investigating him right now with the intent of bringing charges before the election if he is interfering or colluding with Russia, our system has failed. Now, should the DOJ already have been on top of his antics, yes. Unfortunately, it looks like once again the media is doing the job we are paying the FBI and DoJ to do.
At minimum, can we all now pledge to stop providing Twitter with a base to use to drive revenue. It is now clearer than ever, that behavior is helping fund a cohort of a sworn enemy of our country, looking to get another win and potentially create a new axis of evil, this time with a new western hemisphere member run by a convicted felon and his billionaire buddy at the helm.
