Russians continue to advance near Vuhledar and elsewhere.
Weariness as winter approaches sets in for Kharkiv residents.
While the city remains fully functional, with public transportation, healthcare, shops, markets, cafes, parks, cinemas, and whatnot all operating, it faces daily threats. Bombings occur without warning, and the city is defenseless before russian attacks, except maybe occasional interception of drones. Aerial bombs and missiles get us every time.
Those two things are not mutually exclusive! Despite the dangers, people persist. Whether it's to protect their homes, life's work, or simply out of defiance, many choose to stay. Yet the situation is dire. Morale is low, and people are weary from the constant bombings, moving frontline, and the looming winter.
Now that Georgian Dream has been declared the winner of Georgia’s fraudulent election, the question will be what then opposition will do next.
Massive protests did not change anything in Georgia earlier. Huge protests didn’t topple Lukashenko in Belarus or Maduro in Venezuela. Eventually they all lost steam. Sometimes peaceful protest works, often it does not.
Once autocrats get into power, it is very difficult — and often bloody — getting them out.
The fraud and intimidation was blatant in this election.
Here, I am trying to prevent a person who came with someone else's personal number in his passport from voting, while 30 people are trying to drag me out of the election station to let him vote.
They still couldn’t move me, but outside, dozens of people were waiting to physically abuse me. They followed me after I was kicked out of the 50th election station, disappointed that despite the intimidation, I didn’t stop exposing the fraud.
Hungary’s sleazebag prime minister Viktor Orban congratulated Georgian Dream on its “victory” before the results were even announced.
And yet, France and Germany have expressed skepticism about a plan to go around Hungary’s veto of an EU loan to Ukraine because they fear it would set a bad precedent for future EU unity.
Time to grow up. Time to wake up and smell the coffee. Time to get their rears in gear. Choose your cliche.
But Europe needs to make stopping Russia across all fronts a much greater priority.
Also time to tell Putin to fuck all the way off.
Two more majors and a bunch of lieutenants confirmed dead.
Remember the city of Severodonetsk that Russia captured early in the war?
I’ve got zero sympathy for Russian military bloggers.
Drone pilots are the new aces.
This is a very compelling video report from the WSJ on one of Ukraine’s drone aces, callsign Darwin, who has destroyed more than 300 targets.
At the end of the video he says that those who survive are not the strongest or the best equipped, but the ones who adapt.
Kadyrov is just weird. Instead of schmoozing with the other politicians he’s doing push-ups on the chairs.
Speaking of weird.
Dugin is a Kremlin ideologue.
Gog and Magog is a reference to biblical prophesy from Ezekiel and Revelations.
Taking it for a spin.
One Vampire drone takes out two 203 mm howitzers. Probably shouldn’t have parked them right next to each other.
Canada steps up.
Rest in peace.

Sound on for a beautiful Ukrainian lullaby.
Are you my mother?
