My ballot box in Vancouver WA (district 3) set on fire. Estimated hundreds of ballots destroyed.

Ballot box near my home was set on fire this Monday morning. It was last emptied on Saturday at 11 AM. They estimate hundreds of ballots were destroyed. Fortunately I dropped my ballot off last week. But I know neighbors who dropped their ballots off this weekend.

For the presidential race this won’t matter much. I live in Washington and Harris will win big. But I live in the congressional district where Marie Gluesenkamp-Perez is running against MAGA darling Joe Kent. She barely won last time in an upset and the district was gerrymandered in favor of Republicans years ago. Race is expected to be tight again this year.

I’ve read before that if you are early voting to check to make sure that your ballot reaches the election officials, however you had it delivered.  How disgusting.

And what is so disappointing is that two of my friends  I shared with (and I only sent this out in the last 10 minutes) came back and said, yeah, they heard about boxes being destroyed in Vancouver and Portland.
