I hope you can read the picture above or else it is not fun atall. I know it will enlarge on your phone and I can read it on my desk top so I am publishing it in hopes it is not just a hot mess.
I retired in 2009 after 40 years working for the phone company. I had no idea I would leave my job two months before I left. I had not considered it atall. But they powers that be needed to trim the herd, I was an old cow and made a lot of money, so they made me an offer I couldn’t refuse and I became a woman of leisure. (?) But, a few years before I left, I started the sampler you find above. I finished all the text long before I retired and it got put away until TODAY when I pulled it out of a box that said small projects and completed it.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

This is The Great American Rock n Roll Sampler. There are 24 quotes on the first row down and an average of 6 quotes across for a total of about 150 or more. I put it on the opening page here because in my browser view it is larger and readable. It may not be when it publishes. It took a lot of pixels.
It begins with “I know its only rock and roll, but I like it” and ends with “When the music’s over, turn out the lights”. In between are some of the best lines from the mid 1960’s into this new millennium.
I started it and when people saw it being formed, they chipped in their fave music quotes for me to add. I had a bowl on my desk and people dropped little slips of paper in with their choices. One guy came up to my desk and doing his best Hendrix, sang “You make me want to get up and scream!” I added it. Many lines are so famous in my generation that I almost always heard folks start to sing one line or another. Some are not well known lines that were faves of mine or the family. I wrote down things as I remembered then and tried to look them up for accuracy but don’t beat myself up of any errors.
The orange thread did not show up as well as I thought it would so those quotes are harder to read. But the blue I bordered it in makes the orange show up better than it did. I had no idea.
I hope you can and will read it and maybe sing along with a line or two. I feel like all of us are of an age to remember most of these songs but if not, some of them are showing up as commercials. Yuck!!
Have a good day all. Have a fun and safe Halloween too.
