Even though I shit-canned my Washington Post subscription last week because Jeff Bezos is such a pathetic coward, I really enjoyed reading the news this morning that Hugh Hewitt, Trump butt-sniffer extraordinaire, had a meltdown during a Post live event yesterday and subsequently resigned from the paper.
Hewitt abruptly left a live broadcast of the Post’s show “First Look,” leaving the host and his fellow guest stunned.
Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt resigned Friday from his columnist position at The Washington Post, he confirmed to Fox News, after walking out on a live interview on the paper’s video platform — the latest blow to the Post after facing widespread blowback over halting presidential endorsements.
Hewitt stormed out during a live broadcast of the Post’s show “First Look” during a discussion Friday morning about how former President Donald Trump is laying the groundwork to potentially contest the election, leaving host Jonathan Capehart and fellow guest Ruth Marcus stunned.

Why the Post ever had this lying sack on staff was never clear to me back when I had a subscription. He’s a repellent liar and vile propagandist. Hewitt also hosts a syndicated radio show where he has Trump on as a frequent guest, and never once has Hewitt called out Trump’s repeated, egregious lies.
The fact that Hewitt quit means only one thing in my mind: He believes Donald Trump is going to lose. Why else would he give up his columnist position at one of the last major newspapers in the country, especially at a time when it has been reported that Jeff Bezos wants more conservative voices at the Post?
Mr. Bezos has told others involved with The Post that he is interested in expanding The Post’s audience among conservatives, according to a person familiar with the matter. He has appointed Mr. Lewis — a chief executive who previously worked at the Rupert Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal — and has informed Mr. Lewis that he wants more conservative writers on the opinion section, the person said.
Old Hughie sees the handwriting on the wall. Trump is going down. Let’s win this.
