Russia’s big counteroffensive in Kursk is running into problems. Putin had previously set a deadline of taking back Kursk by October. That deadline has now been reset for January.
It was an extremely difficult day near the village of Novoivanivka, where Russians tried to jump into the village and its surroundings 5 times at once. A total of 29 units of armored vehicles were involved. The first three rounds were 7 armored vehicles each, the remaining two were 4 armored vehicles each.
At least 18 armored vehicles out of 29 were destroyed. It is difficult to calculate the number of dead and wounded Russians, but the number may reach up to 300 people. Of course, some of them got stuck in landings or escaped. Today was definitely a black day for Russians.”
The Kursk offensive is over for this dude.
He complains about the North Koreans sent there, who they can't communicate with. He says they have shot at the Russians maybe in panic. He says he reported this to the political officer but has been told that that the higher commanders do not care. He says the North Koreans are afraid and its easier for the commander to send Russians to attack.
There was a record set yesterday for one-day casualties. That record was broken today with 1,950 Russians dead/wounded.
Also, 23 tanks and 81 armored vehicles. I would guess this count includes casualties from Russia’s Kursk counteroffensive.
Bavovna!
When they added an anti-drone cage to this Russian BMP they forgot to guard the back door.
Two North Koreans drink alcohol from the wipes in a personal first aid kit and die.
The report, signed by the deputy commander of the Sevastopol 810th Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces Bernhard, reports the loss of two North Korean "individuals" who used "alcohol-containing substances, including alcohol wipes and antiseptics"
Russia: We helped Trump win. Now he owes us.
Trump’s new national security adviser is a war hawk.
But this story says otherwise.
Taiwan steps up.
I’m guessing he won’t be invited back.
It isn’t all about drones. Tanks get the job done too.
Russian terrorism kills three children.
It’s a familiar story by now — Russian decides it’s stupid to send men to their deaths in meat assaults, speaks up, gets sent to the pit, comes out and deserts. After five months back home he is caught and sent back to the front.
14/ "In the middle of the night, two of us are led in an unknown direction purely on the radio station's [i.e. command post's] instructions. They take us to some building and say, come in. And there, Ukrainian soldiers meet them with fire and destroy them.
15/ "If the first pair doesn't make it, the next pair goes, and the same fate awaits them. And it doesn't matter whether you're wounded or not. There was a case when a pair was walking and they came under artillery fire. One of the guys lost his leg, he couldn't continue moving.
16/ "His partner received an order to zero him out, that is, kill him, and continue moving on his own."In his latest and probably final mission, Guivik says he and his comrades were "stupidly led by the drone and the radio station."
17/ Wounded men were ordered to attack too: "They sent us on an assault on crutches". If they retreated, their own drone would attack them. "Right-left, right-left. If you don't want to go, they throw a grenade from above to speed you up."
Russians loot their own hospital.
Copperhead rockets in use in Ukraine.
Ukraine shouldn’t have to acquire these through “creative” means. We should have sent Blackhawks to Ukraine long ago.
The good news is that the Russian economy cannot sustain this for much longer.
The bad news is that it can’t happen soon enough.
'This is a classic case of gunning the economy beyond its capacity,' said @elinaribakova, a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. High defence spending has led to a rush to hire in the sector, where many factories are working in three shifts. That has sent unemployment to a record low of 2.4 per cent and forced private employers to raise salaries to compete, making it nearly impossible to increase the output of goods and services without driving huge price increases."
Oh no! Are they being treated like cannon fodder? Say it ain’t so!
Russian war veterans are spreading crime across the country.
2/7 At least 242 people died by "veterans" hands, and 227 were injured, mostly friends of "veterans". The common scenario is: a military got drunk, then someone said something that a military did not like. Then a brawl started, ending with severe injuries for civilians involved.
3/7 Here is just one case: an ex-prisoner Savelyev has killed his nephew after he did not like Savelyev boasting about murders. The uncle replied: "They [Ukrainians] were not people, but animals." Then the nephew started to "defend the Ukrainian military", and drunk uncle stabbed him.
4/7 Among Russian militaries ex-prisoners excel other personnel in gruesome violence statistics: they kill more often and they kill women more often. Women from their close circle are at particular risk: mothers, wives, daughters-in-law, relatives of friends.
5/7 Militaries receive minimal sentences for homicide crimes, even for those committed during a drunk fight. And if their victims survive, inter alia after such injuries as skull fractures or spinal injuries, then highly likely there will be not a prison sentence but a probation.
6/7 Participation in so-called "SMO" is almost always considered as a mitigation factor. Of the 292 sentences we analyzed, only in 15% of cases the court did not take combat experience as a mitigating circumstance. At the same time, drunkenness is often ignored as an aggravating factor.
Ho ho ho. Now I have a machine gun.
