This is now beyond the point of no return. MAGA shills want to argue that it’s oh so horribly wrong for Democrats to argue that the GOP has lost it moral boundaries when we have people like Matt Gaetz and Pete Hegseth being submitted to run major portions of the government. We saw this before with the Cavanaugh hearings, we saw it with the “Grab ‘em by the pussy” tape. Republicans want to pretend that no matter how low some of them go — they are always above reproach and criticism.
It’s sickening.
This debate starts with how the Senate is going to handle the confirmation of Matt Gaetz but then it goes far beyond that.
Partial Transcript.
What the [House] speaker is trying to do now, Trump nominating him and the other gentleman for secretary of defense, really speaks to how morally bankrupt the Republican Party is right now," she said. "That they would try to silence a report about a member who is accused of sex trafficking and sex with a minor!"

She said Democrats will likely try to force a debate and vote on Gaetz.
"They want Trump and the Republicans to defend these choices, defend these nominees and their actions," she added, lamenting that voters "regrettably" failed to hold Republicans and Trump "accountable" for their "contempt against women" in the last election.
Never-Trump conservative Ana Navarro agreed and said this is a new era — the "Trump era" — where laws, statutes and protocols that have historically applied "seem not to apply" to him.
She said that while two attorney general nominees had to withdraw their nominations because they employed illegal nannies, Gaetz stands accused of "sleeping with a girl who's almost young enough to need a nanny."
"And Republicans are saying, 'There's nothing to see here,'" she concluded.
The remarks drew immediate pushback from GOP strategist Erin Perrine, who insisted that Republicans "are not morally bankrupt." As Etienne started to insist that Speaker Mike Johnson said he wants to "silence" an Ethics Committee report against Gaetz, Perrine shot back, "Wait - let me finish."
She then noted that Americans overwhelming voted for Trump and Republicans in the election, showing the country doesn't agree the party is "morally bankrupt."
She also offered Democrats a piece of advice.
"If you guys want to change the conversation and you want to stop a nomination like Matt Gaetz, you gotta stop saying the Republican Party is morally bankrupt. Because the American people are going to immediately turn that off and say, "We've already voted beyond this. We're moving past this.'"
We’re past allegations of pedophilia? We’re past sexual assault? We’re past Sex Trafficking?
Sure. Right.
None of that matters — and you guys are so rude to even suggest that the bulk of MAGA are enabling sexual assault by ignoring these allegations. How dare you?
Watching GOP shills on Anderson Cooper scream that attacking the entire MAGA crowd as being complicit in Sexual Assault (because of Cavanaugh, Trump, Gaetz and Hegseth) is a big "FAIL" because people will just tune it out.
Stop painting with a broad brush, not everyone feels that way. Don't be hyperbolic.
Yes, quite a hoot from the party whose leader called us all "Vermin", "Garbage", "Enemies Within" and "Trash" who are "Poisoning the Blood of our Nation." It's repeatedly amazing how they play the fucking victim card.
How dare you say I support HITLER!
Even though nobody actually said that — except for JD Vance — while they are literally enabling and empowering pedophiles and rapists.
Look, I understand exactly how it feels to be lumped into a huge group and stereotyped as if everyone whose been randomly grouped together as the same. Of course, they are not. Of course, these are individuals with their own point of view and their own reasons for doing what they decided to do. They do have autonomy in their decision, and some of them may have made that decision without specifically intending to endorse and enable sexism, sexual assault, mass deportation, fascism and racism.
But, what they’ve actually done is enable sexism, sexual assault, mass deportation, fascism and racism. It couldn't have been more obvious that this was the case. Being willfully oblivious is no excuse, just like claiming ignorance of the law is no excuse for committing a crime. It doesn’t matter what they intended, this is exactly what is happening. They are the people responsible for that.
They've disabled themselves from being criticized, we're always supposed to give them the benefit of the doubt - when nobody else gets that privilege - and then they say "stick to the issues and don't do personal attacks" yet they also lied about the issues. They lied about the economy, inflation and immigration.
It's infuriating.
They expect to be judged by a different standard. Or really, no standard at all. They can attack the Capitol and expect not be punished for trying to overthrow the election.
It wasn't an insurrection!
Yeah?
Then why did they bring walkie-talkies, bear spray, zip ties and stash long guns nearby? Were those for a picnic?
We have clear obvious evidence and they make every fucking ridiculous excuse in the world. Meanwhile, in Springfield, they're "eating the cats and eating the dogs."
But that's not unfair rhetoric. That’s not going beyond the pale. That’s not unfairly accusing the innocent — even though there’s clear evidence that was entirely a hoax.
They. are. disgusting.
They voted for this. Some of them wanted this.
And this is what they get.
