For several days, 3 U.S. House races have been undetermined.
All are less than 1,000 votes apart between the Dem and Rep candidates.
Finally, CNN posted that Adam Gray, the Dem in CA-13, has pulled ahead. Some were anticipating this since most of the remaining votes were in Gray-trending counties. But the expectation is finally being counted.
If things go as we hope, Dems will win 2 out of 3 outstanding races.
If this occurs, the final House tally will be 220 to 215.
With three Republicans resigning, Mike Waltz and Elise Stefanik to join Trump’s “team,” and Matt Gaetz to avoid scandal, the fractious Republican House caucus will be frayed for several months.
If this lead holds, it will be a net pickup of 2 seats for the Democratic Party over 2022. It is hardly the wave we had hoped for, but better than what it looked like in June.
