As a Black woman with pre-existing health conditions s from birth, disabilities exacerbated by a moderate COVID-19 infection at the beginning of 2023, civil servant with 11 years left to retire and living in the South, I'm very afraid for my life and livelihood, as well as for those who not only look like me, but also for those who do not look like me and did not and have not voted for their best interests for "never!"
We must not retreat! We lost the battle, but the war is not over! The coalition and ground game that MVP Harris and Waltz put together in less than 6 months, the light that grew stronger and stronger, until the stain of America's past reared it's ugly head in the voting booth, must not be extinguished!
No blame! Just work to do! Fair Fight, Democracy Now, and all the PACs that worked to educate, motivate and energize voters must not "pack up and go home!"
The monied celebrities must be encouraged to use their dollars and voices to continue exposing the TRUTH! MVP and Coach must continue traveling across America's nooks and crannies to engage and educate common folk. The dumbing down of the educational system since Brown v. Board, and the impact of poverty and pollution on neurological development and cognitive abilities means that many, many people really can not comprehend the "big picture" nor how the bits and pieces fit into it!
Even us so-called educated folk, lack critical thinking skills. When the press lost its credibility as the "4th branch" of the Constitution in the early 20th century and allowed profits to prevail over truth, it was only a matter of time before Orwell's "1984" became a reality!
Former President Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce and Jay Z, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Bruce Springsteen, and all the celebrities who came out in the final days, did not use their voices or platforms to speak truth to MAGA lies! They were a day late and a dollar short! They, too, chose profits over truth in my opinion! I guess for millionaires and billionaires there is not a thing as "too much money!" They had the power to combat fear, hate, and lies in front and behind the scenes!
President Biden and Harris allowed Trump and his acolyte to continue making loud noises in the background. They did not understand that bullies do NOT STOP! They did not have a "war room" to counter disinformation and promote the good of Democrat supported policies that help everyday citizens.
MVP Harris was too late getting into the game. Not as the nominee, but leading the comeback. POTUS stepped aside for Senator Clinton, and he stepped aside for MVP Harris! Both times, Democrats failed! Not because of the choices that were made, but like Charlie Brown, we are ever optimistic, believing that Republicans, like Lucy, are going to act in good faith when we step up to "kick the ball!"
To those who believe in democracy and the great American experiment, we can't fathom the unchecked pursuit of absolute power! Unfortunately, money is the cornerstone of power, and since the foundation of the United States of America was built on lies, murder, stealth, and slavery, which essentially made the Constitution akin to a non-viable pregnancy, it was always headed to our current state! A divided house cannot stand, and neither can a house built on a shoddy foundation! Both houses will eventually fall down!
But, that doesn't mean we stay down! Rebuilding is hard work! But, we can do this! I beg anyone who is on MVP Harris' team to encourage her and Coach to keep campaigning for the PEOPLE! I encourage those celebrities with big voices, and those of us with smaller voices, and even those of us who feel we don't have a voice, to keep showing up! Show up at local council meetings, school board meetings, in churches, synagogues, mosques, colleges, coffee shops, grocery stores, storefronts, TikTok, YouTube, Truth Social, Instagram, X, Fox, Briebart, Politico, Jow Rogan, Who's Your Daddy, any and everywhere!
Don't give in to the darkness! Don't cower! Learn how to communicate in 10 second sound bites and 3 bullet points! Use pictures and stories to demonstrate policies and laws that help or hurt us! Call them liars to their faces! Publicize the lobbyists, money spent, and who they are visiting!
There is no way no one in Congress did not know SC justices and their families were getting what are essentially "kickbacks!" Could it be that both, Democrats and Republicans, have their hands in the "cookie jar?" Just saying!
Nevertheless, MVP Harris and Coach must NOT STOP!
Please keep holding rallies, big and small, as well as town halls! Visit public housing and trailer parks, reservations and ranches, farms and schools! Tell the truth! Show pictures! Show receipts! Tell stories! Listen to long-held hurt and resentment, despair, and desolation! People are hurting, and "hurt people hurt!"
Give them a hug! Hold their hands! Help them to overcome, and show them a path forward!
Bring people together! Encourage conversations to find common ground! Dance! Laugh! LOVE!
LIGHT WILL SLWAYS CONQUER DARKNESS! So, let's keep shining our little lights!
