I used to donate blood regularly. Somewhere along the way I stopped because I had to get some documentation from my doctor and the appointment had to be rebooked and I was busy at work . . . it was all just too much effort.
Today I made an appointment to get the paperwork sorted so I can donate blood again.
There’s a lot going wrong in the world right now.
And it can feel as though there’s nothing we can do to fight it. I’ve certainly been feeling that way.
I’ve heard people saying that it’s not the end of the world, or that the sun will still rise tomorrow. That’s true, but it’s not true for everyone.
Innocent people are going to suffer who wouldn’t have if Harris had won.
I don’t have any answers.
But I do believe that if we put good things out into the world it makes a difference, even if we can’t see it.
I’m not going to stop being angry about the things that are worth being angry about. I’m not going to write off the causes I care about as lost.
But aside from all that, I’m going to make a conscious effort to put a few more good deeds into the world.
It always needs them.
