Sitting Ducks

I have posted very few blog entries. This is mostly due to the fact that I usually only feel compelled to post when I'm in a fairly hysterical state of mind. 

Well I've lost it! Why?

Because the people on my side of the aisle have refused to face facts since Ronald Reagan was elected. There are strong forces on the right, supported by the billionaire (monied elite) class, who want to take us back to the feudalistic system that existed in America prior to the New Deal. 

And our leaders are letting them do it. How?

First, we sucked up to our left leaning plutocrats and sold out labor by allowing corporations to ship all the good working class jobs overseas, so we can all wear $5 polyester shirts and watch $300 flat screen TVs. 

Second, we let billionaires gain absolute control of the media by watering down media ownership rules, and eliminating broadcasting rules like the fairness doctrine and immunizing web based information providers from any liability for libelous and false transmissions via Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. Thus, Elon Musk can propagate falsehoods and blood libel with impunity 

Third, our leaders didn't have the guts to get rid of the filibuster, so now we have a packed Supreme Court that is set to undue potentially 100 years of progressive jurisprudence.

So, we find ourselves sitting ducks, telling our brown skinned children to carry their US Passports on their person or in their cars, so at any time they can prove US Citizenship, or risk getting swept up, and locked in a camp in Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, or Florida.
