Should we fight? Or should allow the disaster to happen?

I'm a lifelong progressive Democrat. When Trump won in 2016, I thought we should fight him with everything we've got.

But now, I'm thinking we should just let the disaster happen. His economic policies such as huge import tariffs will likely cause the recession that we have so far avoided. And the people most affected by it will be the working class Trump supporters. They will most likely be devastated. Once we impose tariffs, other countries will impose tariffs on our goods. And unemployment is likely to soar.

His tax cuts will most likely come by cutting social programs and social safety nets like food stamps. And he will not be paying for additional unemployment benefits - like what happened in the past recession. And most likely there will be cuts to Medicaid as well.

Hispanics who are also mostly working class will suffer terribly during a recession as well.

But my compassion is totally done. I can no longer want to help people who voted for Trump and who will be devastated by the consequences. Maybe this is the only way to break the MAGA cult. To have his supporters feel the actual consequences of his and their actions.
