So I'm working Uber this evening in Atlanta but it's slow so I switch over to doing Uber Eats.
I'm on my next to last delivery for the evening. When the customer opens the door his very first words were "what the hell just happened ??? " I knew exactly what he meant. We exchanged some brief words about how this isn't the country we thought it was and then I gave him his order and told him to stay encouraged.
And as I was waking away he said, " I LOVE YOU" and I said "I LOVE YOU TOO"
It reminded me of a good movie called 13 Conversations About One Thing. A lady is the victim of a hit and run and after recovering falls into despair because she just can't come to terms with the world being that cruel.
She eventually decides to kill herself by stepping out into New York City traffic. But just at the moment she's about to step off the curb she makes eye contact with a total stranger from across the street. And in that moment this total stranger smiles and then waves hello. And like that, the spell was broken.
Let's remember to love each other. And let's remember it's not strength that overcomes darkness, it's light. Let's rest, let's recover. Then we fight. Then we win.
I love you !!!
Ps. 80's party rap on YouTube is really good therapy haaa.
