I need help deradicalizing friends.

Hello community. 

Recently I blew up at an old friend because of a really racists comment after the election. This was on a group chat with some other friends. After thinking about it i found a you tube video describing what was happening to him. 

Has anyone else gone through this situation and if so could you offer advise.
