Ukraine retakes a section of Druzhba, which is northeast of Toretsk.
Trump is already wanting to giftwrap Crimea for Putin.
Russian TV, however, is showing nude photos of Melania.
Putin has apparently decided to show Trump who the boss is by humiliating him.
The hosts could barely keep from laughing.
A Russian soldier shows the damage caused by a Ukrainian drone to their training camp.
But do you really need a head to go on a meat assault?
2/ The Russian Telegram channel Baza reports on the bizarre case of Alexander L., who was found decapitated on a railway line in October 2021. Investigators found a strange anomaly when his personnel files were obtained from the local military enlistment office.
3/ The files showed that the day after his death, Alexander L. underwent a military medical commission. He supposedly complained about his health and was given an EEG and allergy tests. Two examination reports were drawn up based on the tests, signed by five doctors.
4/ The doctors all rated Alexander L. as partially fit for military service, somehow missing the fact that he had no head and was, in fact, entirely dead.
A Russian war correspondent describes his trip down the Highway of Death near Pokrovsk.
He waxes poetic about soldiers who travel that road knowing they will eventually join the dead.
Have you ever traveled on the road of death? No, not in the Iraqi desert, but on the Pokrovsk direction. There, the remains of armored vehicles gather in groups of five on a small patch of land. About a hundred meters further, the scene repeats itself; only the makes of the vehicles and the degree of their destruction change.
I traveled a similar route to Selydovo. I was guided by a "Bukhanka-cabriolet," a masterpiece of front-line genius with its roof chopped off, nimbly weaving between the wrecks of vehicles. I held the motorcycle handlebars tighter. As we sped forward, I counted about ten similar "Bukhankas" and no fewer than five motorcycles. All were destroyed, and around them lay scattered personal belongings, food, and torn pieces of uniform.
You pass one similar motorcycle, then another... After the third, you realize that you are no different from those who ended their earthly journey here. The same wheels, frame, and body armor. Since childhood, movies have taught us that we are heroes and possess unique destinies. We absorb these role models like sponges and firmly believe that the main character is always us. Everyone will perish, but I will remain! Surely I will, because I am special!
No, brother, we are all equal! A 100% defense against drones hasn't been invented yet, and the more you ride, the closer your encounter with a drone. One Bukhanka will be torn apart before your eyes, then another. And after this, you'll admit to yourself that you will be next! In a week, a month, but you will be hit! Definitely! There is no doubt about that! The only question is how badly you'll be injured by such a "hit." Just imagine the courage it takes to go back out on the road after all the horrors you've seen.
Every "Bukhanka" on the roadside is a monument where you can see your own reflection. They perished, but it could have been you. Everyone who drives this road four times a day has their own motives, but I can say for sure that there are no heroes among them. Look for the chosen ones in the rear, you will unmistakably recognize them by their new uniforms. On the roads of Pokrovsk, there is a place only for the immortals. They accepted their fate, surrendered to it, and thus stepped into immortality. Such people are simply unbeatable. It is thanks to them that we keep moving forward, no matter what.
The Financial Times has an interesting story on Gagauzia, a section of southern Moldova with a population of about 150k that is mostly pro-Russian.
An excerpt:
Gagauzia has also long been economically depressed, and Sandu’s critics say that by focusing on Russia’s role in the vote, she is playing down legitimate disappointment with her four years of rule, that could be pushing people away from her EU vision, too.
“Euros, what euros? There are no lei here, let alone euros,” said a woman in the Gagauzia village of Beșalma, referring to Moldova’s currency, as she walked past a rural church.
In Comrat, the region’s capital, a sweets seller in the local market said she felt like she was forced to spend or give away “every penny earned”.
“I don’t want to move towards Europe, we should be with Russia. With Russia you can really live, and well. Not like this,” she said, adding she received her news mostly on Russian TV.
Kyvyrzhyk said that with so many in Gagauzia struggling to make ends meet, no wonder people were selling their votes to whoever would offer them cash.
Another 1,660 Russians.
Sixteen rocket launchers in two weeks.
I’m sure all that orange smoke is safe to breathe.
This Russian T-90 tank was protected not by reactive armor, but ordinary bricks. That didn’t work, resulting in spontaneous disassembly and a turret toss with a lollipop landing.
This Russian wants to know why he has to go on a meat assault instead of all those minorities.
"Today I am being transferred to an assault unit for appealing to the president about evading the mobilization of diasporas - Armenian, Azerbaijani, Kyrgyz, Georgian, Asian. They are transferring me to death, there is rarely anyone who survives. I am a warrior. I came here to fight, of course I obey the order. Instead of answering questions — death."
A guy recorded a video asking why it is mostly Russians who are fighting, while all sorts of diasporas live peacefully in Russia and have fun, and now he is being transferred to the assault for this with a clear outcome.
Makes way more sense to service them in Ukraine instead of taking them out of the country to be serviced.
This also makes sense.
Russia continues to target Odesa.
This is the huge drone that was supposedly shot down by the Russian fighter that was accompanying it because control of it was lost.
The S-70 Okhotnik (“Hunter”), with its distinctive 65-foot wingspan, is one of only a handful in existence. Developed by Sukhoi over the past decade, the drone is designed to penetrate air defenses using its reduced radar cross-section design.
Drone evolution continues.
Russia has a new glide bomb.
It’s Belarus. What can you say? 😅
I wonder if those Anti-NATO Satellite Hats would also protect against drones.
The next installment of the Kyiv Independent’s series on Ukrainian cities is about Kharkiv.
If you want to see all of Ukraine, just go to Ivanivka.
He’s obviously cutting costs.
Sound on.
An army travels on cabbage rolls.
Taking care of the smallest warriors.
