Wait, There’s an App for Wut?

OK, so after 4 years my automatic litter box, a Littermaid®.

Given the environment that they operate in, highly corrosive and highly abrasive, this is a good run.

I could not find another Littermaid®, because it has been discontinued.

So I started looking at litter boxes, and discovered something worrying, that some off brand imports are killing cats. (Video after the break)

These are various off brand rotating barrel litter boxes, so I decided to stay with a comb type, because I know it, and my cats know it, andthey cannot function as a guillotine.

Seriously, WTF

So I started reading reviews, and the reviewers are talking about Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled cat boxes which come with smartphone apps.

So, they want me to monitor how often my cats piss and sh%$?

Since it is an app, I would assume that the vendors are also collecting this data and reselling it to marketers, because that is what apps do.

Why on earth would someone want an app to monitor cat turds?

With the exception of Ecch (Twitter), there should be no apps that monitor Catturd, and if you are on Apartheid Era Emerald Heir Pedo Guy’s™ hell site, you should probably block Catturd.
