Why do so few say Trump should not run?

So Ezra Klein and Nate Silver think Biden should not run.  So do a lot of other, often liberal oriented, pundits.  Why? In part because Biden is a decent person who might listen to reason.  There’s a reason why pundits don’t suggest the same for Trump in spite of many many more glaring deficiencies.  It’s a waste of time because the narcissistic failure is not capable of listening to reason, never mind not having a decent bone in his body. Their records in office are light years apart (Trump worried about his hair and posts; Biden got major pieces of legislation passed and has a long list of accomplishments. I leave aside for this post my feelings on the tragedy befalling Gaza and Israel).  Biden’s team is capable, smart and one can detect vague signs of humanity in their work.  Trump’s team is as venal, grasping and divisive as the steaming pile of, um, ego they worship.  This is what is crucial, as much as who gets propped up before the camera. So thanks Ezra and Nate: give the ‘leader’ in numerous weakly-done polls whose only meaningful purpose is as a living example of how low humanity can sink a free pass.  And stick it to Biden.  All in a day’s work. Yay: more clicks!

A final comment if I might: the great Chinese classic novel ‘Plum in the Golden Vase’ (it is 5 volumes and contains a lot of sexually explicit description) shows how corruption leaks downwards.  There will be a new Ego after Trump.  And they will keep trying to spread the rot. The current Republican Party needs to experience such a decisive defeat that a generation remembers not to go there.  Good luck my friends.
