‘Religious freaks’ is how Republican leaders and strategists used to privately refer to the white ‘Christian’ fundamentalists the party groomed and pandered to in order to build a reliable GOP voting bloc. What they never budgeted for was the ‘freak’ mob rallying behind a cunning cult leader and taking over the party.
Old guard ‘thinking’ Republicans are now faced with the question of just where this WACKO faction is taking them. Is rabid racism really in their interest? Or how about banning books and making contraception illegal? What about the destruction of Social Security, Medicare, and the ACA?
This isn’t just talk. The WACKOs have put most of it on paper with their Project 2025.
Does turning America into an all-white ‘Christian’ nation sound like your political priority? Does helping Putin and abandoning NATO sound like your international view? And how about freeing the mobsters who stormed our beautiful Capitol building intent on destruction on their way to overturning an American election?
Of course you also might want to reflect on the ‘trash’ factor. Most WACKO members have never read the Constitution and never opened a dictionary. They’ve been told to dislike educated people, so they do.
These aren’t the nice, brainy, conservatives like my father was, or like most of the neighbors were where I grew up. They are the bottom of the American barrel. People you wouldn’t talk to on the street, much less elect as your leaders!
WACKO’s leader, now the GOP’s 2024 presidential candidate, is like a mob boss, commanding a huge threat machine to turn against his perceived enemies. When he focuses on someone, be it prosecutors, judges, witnesses, jurors, or just plain critics (or their family members!), it gets so bad the people often need bodyguards and sometimes have to leave their homes. Is this the America you want?
How about giving Democrats a second look. They’re bringing manufacturing back to the US. They’re getting the prices of drugs and medicines reduced. They want to get assault weapons off the street. Ask the countless conservatives who now support Democrats. They would rather form a conservative branch of the Democratic party than continue to be associated with Trump and the WACKOs.
Join them. Vote blue in November and help put an end to the stain on our political system.
