Sorry guys, I forgot to post this.
A lot of folks keep emergency supplies in their cars. Others keep sack lunches or toiletries to give to someone in need. The two things I keep are not like that at all. Come on in to see what they are!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

The first things I always keep is a large black hoodie. I seem to need one often in restaurants but now when I leave home. I almost always drive where ever we go, so it is there when I need it as long as I remember to take it back to the car from the house or leave it there before I come in.
The other things might surprise you. In California, plastic that would otherwise be recyclable is not if it is black. They have their reasons. So I try to give black plastic a longer useful life. I saved them from previous take outs and now I keep one in the car in case I need it. This wins 2 ways for me. I am keeping something going longer and I am not taking new containers home. I put the left overs in a fridge container, wash and dry the dirty one, and take it right back out to the car. I also have two small black “sauce” containers inside it since restaurants make good sauces. Left overs are better reheated with the original flavors and sauces.
