Some time last year, Duck Duck Go, released their own browser for Windows, IOS, Android etc.
Not just the search engine, but a full browser that blocks site from tracking you, plus it has a You Tube player that blocks ads and they have had many updates and added features and the browser is a mature product now.
But I digress, I am not here to convince people to use it, though they should.
I am here because this browser also tells you how many times a website tracks you.
And I have found that Daily Kos has more trackers than any site I frequent.
Before posting this, I cleared my history of this site and You Tube, and then opened it back up, and went to You Tube and Daily Kos on separate tabs and You Tube had 5 tracking attempts, but Daily Kos had:
105 Tracking attempts.
One Hundred and FIVE tracking attempts on one visit to the site, and it just grew to 112.
And I want to know why this site has more trackers than You Tube.
If this intentional, I want to know why?
If this isn’t known or this is new information, then perhaps something should be done about this.
I personally am very glad to be using the browser that blocks these attempts, HAH!
But others probably aren’t so lucky.
This has bothered me for a while, and I think this should be addressed!
***UPDATE*** After publishing this diary, it now says there are:
405 Tracking attempts from Daily Kos!
