Russia targets a village in Ukraine with massive fuel-air explosives ( i.e. thermobaric) for no apparent reason other than to kill as many civilians as possible.
The Russian “motorcycle offensive” in the northeast near Kharkiv has stalled.
The main change is that the Russians are using much less equipment than before, which may indicate a real shortage of armored vehicles. Motorcycle attacks have become a feature of the recent weeks of the war. However, their main strength, aviation, continues to operate actively. During the day there were 86 airstrikes along all front lines. Aviation remains the only truly effective side of the Russians, and the shortage of countermeasures in Ukraine is taking its toll. The supply of F-16s may change the situation, but Ukraine still continues to be subject to restrictions on the use of Western weapons. For example, Belgian F-16s are allowed to be used only on the territory of Ukraine.
Sweden steps up by providing Ukraine with command and control planes similar to our AWACS.
The UK steps up.
Shouldn’t smoke carelessly around missiles.
This facility is just north of Moscow.
That “oh, shit” moment when you realize you missed the drone.
Big bavovna.
Shame about your nice artillery piece there.
An act of heroism during a day-long gun battle with Russia’s elite Spetznaz troops.
Elite Russian Spetznaz had crept into his unit’s rear, he told me: “You could see how professionally and well co-ordinated they were working; it was high-level stuff. They had the latest-model Kalashnikovs and night-vision devices. They covered their movement by accurate fire.”
WTH ??
How do you suppose it feels being a prisoner of war and knowing your country isn’t willing to exchange prisoners to get you back?

I’m glad the 17-year-old was captured. He can eventually return home and become a grandpa and warn his grandkids about the time he marched off to fight in a terrible war and got lucky.
Ukraine does, however, have some work to do to make sure this kind of behavior isn’t tolerated.
If Russia keeps drafting men (with no political connections) from Moscow, the shit is going to hit the fan belong long.
The next generation of Russians.
The shell shortage seems to have been alleviated, at least for now.
We wouldn’t have to do work-arounds like this if we had a Congress that could be counted on to do the right thing.
Scholz signs on with conditions.
Absolutely despicable.
Hungary continues to demonstrate how it doesn’t want to remain in NATO and the EU.
Cough it up, oligarchs.
As much as the blood of Ukrainian civilians his bombs have killed, this blood is on Putin’s hands as well.
Rest in peace.
Dad’s home.
Unbreakable indeed.
Kharkiv looks like it was a fun place — until the Russians came.
Let’s hope Kashtan is able to adjust to a new home.
Can’t leave the goat behind.
Hopefully Himars the calf and the rabbits and guinea pigs all found their owners.
