Okay, first things first, I apologize for the click-bait title.
Now that I have your attention, however, allow me to present the final answer on why replacing Biden is political suicide and will guarantee a Trump victory in November.
If you continue to persist that Biden “has to” drop out “for the sake of the people” after reading my explanation, you are a MAGAist troll that only seeks to help Trump.
The problem with replacing Biden is in the law itself for candidates dropping out/being replaced, as the Conservatives would allege (www.newsweek.com/...).

Nevada:
Nevada does not allow a candidate to be replaced after the fourth Friday of June. Oops. We missed that deadline. If Biden drops out, there go all of the Dem votes for that state. Biden would be left on the Nevada ballot, and we just would not have a running Dem on the ballot there.
Georgia:
Georgia allows a candidate to withdraw from the ballot up to 60 days prior to the election. However, no new candidate will be placed on the ballot and all votes for the withdrawn candidate will not be counted towards a new candidate. There go all the votes for Biden.
Wisconsin:
Wisconsin only allows for death to remove a candidate from the ballot.
But wait, there’s more!!!!
There are also several other states with no laws regarding a presidential candidate to remove him/herself from the ballot and allow another candidate to be placed on the ballot. I will give you one state that has no law regarding how presidential candidates can drop out or be replaced: Michigan.
Do you know what all of this would mean for those states if Biden dropped out?
Lawsuits! Lawsuits everywhere as battles would emerge to place Biden’s replacement on ballots.
Know who would fight us every step of the way? Republicans! Because why would they allow us to have a new candidate? Afterall, you cannot vote for “any Democratic candidate” if there is no candidate. Even if Democrats won every lawsuit in every state to have Biden replaced, do you really think that could be accomplished before November? Speaking as an attorney myself, hell no. There is no way in the 7 Hells that would work out. Don’t forget either who the Supreme Court is in bed with anyway.
If Biden drops out, we will lose the 2024 election.
Let me repeat that again.
If Biden drops out, we will lose the 2024 election, and Donald Trump will be our King — automatically, definitively, completely, as a matter of the god damned law. This is in addition to all of the other reasons why it would be stupid to replace Biden.
So please, I do not mean to be mean, but if you are persisting on saying Biden has to drop out — STOP. You are contributing to the problem.
At this point, any efforts to kick Biden to the side are either a deliberate or complicit Republican ploy to win the 2024 election on a technicality. Republicans are doing this because they know that Biden will god damned win. We ARE winning (see my rationale for how we are winning here: www.dailykos.com/...).
Let me repeat myself.
We are winning. They are trying to play a trick to defeat us. DO NOT FALL FOR IT.
It is physically too late to swap Biden out now.
Either ante up and pitch in, or get the hell out of the way.

**** Post-Publishing Clarification ****
I know Biden is only the PRESUMPTIVE nominee. I know many of the states have new regulatory provisions (such as Nevada) that allow for parties like the DNC to report their candidates until September 3rd. This is not what I am talking about and misses the point.
From a legal standpoint, it is irrelevant what the laws actually say. What matters is what judges will agree the laws actually mean. Courts get to decide what laws actually mean and determine whether or not they are Constitutional, regardless of the actual written text (see my discussion of the SCOTUS here: www.dailykos.com/...).
If the Heritage Foundation sues to prevent Biden from being replaced, which they assert they will, this will gum up the process of being able to replace Biden on the ballot. The lower court (in Nevada or Wisconsin, for example) would probably rule in favor of the DNC, but then there would be a catch. An appeal would be made that would go up to the Supreme Court. All it would take is for the Heritage Foundation to allege something like, “It is unconstitutional for the DNC to change their candidate to Kamala Harris when primary voters already used their voice to choose Joe Biden,” and the Supreme Court would concur — all just to screw the DNC over and ensure Trump’s easy victory.
This would inhibit states from being able to replace Biden.
Then, furthermore, even if this all occurs after the 2024 election happens and a different DNC candidate won, the RNC would still do these lawsuits anyway. All they would need to assert is that “the election was unconstitutional because a candidate who was not selected by the people ran for the Office of the President.” The Supreme Court would agree, and then would try to place Trump as the President as the only legitimate candidate who received the most electoral votes. We would have a Constitutional crisis and Civil War as the Republicans went up in arms and Democrats retaliated.
I am sure there were many political cassandras who rang the alarm before Bush v Gore occurred, but were ignored because of people who said, “that is legally impossible.”
