NYTimes is universally assumed to be the hallmark “liberal” newspaper, the “paper of record”, a worthy counter-weight to “conservative” papers like WSJ. Nope. Its news is a mash up of outstanding journalism and tabloid trash. Rather than reporting news, it gets more eyeballs if it makes news instead. Remember Judith Miller and her single-handed (and complete rubbish) public justification of the Iraq Invasion based on weapons of mass destruction? Yep, NYTimes making news, not reporting it. They did an embarrassingly pathetic non-apology 20 years later—that was mostly wrong. The witch-hunt on former Senator Al Franken? Same deal, they got their big game kill that day. Pick your own awful reporting.
But c’mon folks, since when did the NYTimes earn the right to an unprecedented, full front-page editorial declaration that Joe Biden must resign because of their clinical diagnosis made from a TV performance? WTF? The NYTimes previously admitted to Politico they became miffed because the WH doesn’t cater to their whims. Now that’s a story and it makes NYTimes look pretty fucking biased. They follow this up with blaring headlines on a Parkinson disease specialist visiting the White House. Where is the story? Did they uncover that Biden has a neurological disorder? Nope. Did he examine military personnel on staff with post-war TBD? Don’t know. They did not do the work. They are not journalists.
I’ll miss Paul Krugman, Jamelle Bouie and the Beehive but that’s it. The Grey Lady isn’t grey because she’s serious anymore--it’s because she is dead. I can't give these chumps my money to enable them anymore.
