“What the Supreme Court justices have done is effectively place a crown on Donald Trump’s head”.
The Leader confirms what Justice Sotomayor stated in her dissent in Trump v. United States that Mr. Trump is “now a king”.

In the only clip I can find, the Senator says,
“They incorrectly declared in effect the same thing Richard Nixon told David Frost in 1977 … “When the President does it, it means it’s not illegal.””
He intends to “classify the subversion acts as unofficial acts not subject to immunity”.
“We are doing this because we believe that in America, no President should be free to overturn an election against the will of the people, no matter what the conservative justices may believe.”
He adds that they will also work on other proposals to reassert Congress's Article I authority to reign in the abuse of our federal judiciary.
“The American people are tired, just tired of justices who think they are beyond accountability. Now the Supreme Courts’s ruling in Trump v United States is just the finishing touch on one of the most destructive Supreme Court terms in modern history.”
(*I haven't watched C-Span to view videos in a while and was surprised to see that they now have advertising in their clips, similar to YouTube. I also noticed that floor speeches are being cut off, which is something I don't recall happening before. What did I miss?)
Many of the news reports I've seen suggest that it may be difficult to get the legislation passed. At times, we may have to compromise and keep striving. This will continue until we secure a Senate majority capable of changing the rules to do away with the filibuster that allows the minority to have a significant impact.
Article I authority? Aside from a constitutional convention, are there legislative options? Thanks.
