First, Michael Moore wants us to dump Biden and pick Harris cause “Israel” but now that Harris may pick Shapiro, Moore is getting worried, and a drumbeat of critics are surfacing to second guess Kamala Harris because she seems to just adore “THE JOOOZ!”
So, given that all the other candidates up for the job are pretty much have a hard on for Israel, why exactly do we single out the Jewish guy for criticism? As a staunch Leftist all my life, I never really understood the kneejerk claims of anti-Semitism leveled at every shadow among the Jewish community, but observing the rank hypocrisy over the last year among many supposed progressives, I am beginning to get it now… and it is depressing...
Now, speaking as a secular Jew, when I am feeling at my most cynical, I simply wish everyone in Israel/Palestine would get just raptured up to heaven in some kind of miraculous event. Or maybe we could just relocate the entire population to fucking Utah. Plenty of desert for everyone!
Shapiro is wildly popular in Pennsylvania, seems well regarded across the political spectrum by local unions, and communities of color, in a diverse state: but we should throw him under the bus because a vocal minority want to put one issue ahead of sustaining our Republic? The only thing I can think of that speaks against Shapiro is “optics,” and simply makes me think we have regressed
