Yes, the New York Times’ reporting was nothing short of lickspittlery. Yes, insisting on using his FOX devotees instead of moderators from ABC is pure cowardice, Yes, the insistence on a “FULL ARENA AUDIENCE” reveals his determination to make any encounter with Harris into a MAGA Colusseum fantasy for his besotted cultists.
But I’ve yet to hear anyone note the most significant change Himself “agreed” to: moving the date to which he previously agreed last May. What has happened since to make Himself’s campaign insist on the fourth of September, rather than the original date just six days later?
We all remember how frustrated we were last month when New York Judge Juan Merchan postponed Himself’s sentencing for the “hush money” election fraud conviction in May.
Many may not remember the Self team’s motion the same day to set aside the conviction based on the argument that the Supreme Court’s immunity-for-official-acts ruling covers the New York charges. Merchan has said he will rule on that motion on September 6.
It is unlikely that Judge Merchan will agree with Todd Blanche that sending out your weasel lawyer to hush up porn stars so you can get elected president qualifies as an official duty of the office.
So, on the sixth day of next month, the judge is almost certain to reaffirm to all concerned that Donald Trump is a convicted fraudster and felon awaiting his just licks.
I’m certain Mr. Self’s people would prefer that announcement be made after his gladiator cosplay.
Addendum for clarity: While Judge Merchan will rule on the Self motion to dismiss on Sep 6th, Himself is not scheduled to be sentenced until the 18th. SNL is scheduled to return live on the 28th.
