Musk-backed PAC under investigation for potential violations of Michigan laws

You may have heard that Musk's America PAC has deceptively advertised itself to swing-state residents to help complete their voter registration in a guise to simply collect their personal data. Fortunately, authorities in Michigan have begun an investigation to determine if the PAC broke the law: 

"While the America PAC is a federal political action committee, the Department is reviewing their activities to determine if there have been any violations of state law. We will refer potential violations to the Michigan Attorney General's office as appropriate," a spokesperson for Jocelyn Benson, Michigan's secretary of state, said in a statement to Reuters.

Elon Musk has become a potent MAGA force, given his immense wealth and control over Twitter (X).

The America PAC website appears to have removed the pages purporting to help people complete their voter registration. Here's to hoping that other states will also investigate the actions of America PAC and pursue criminal prosecution depending on the evidence.
