My first diary, thank you for bearing with me.
I'm an old dude, and I have been a fan of Harry Truman since I was a kid. I've missed the plain speaking, truth to power energy in the American heartland from the democratic party for some time--a candidate who could connect with the rural midwest folks, and show them just how they have been screwed over by the Republican party for the last several decades.
Someone who could give 'em hell like Harry, do it with a laugh, while sharing ice cream with families at the county fair. A progressive, stand-up politician who realizes a good leader is one who has a desire to serve, not dominate with his or her own ego.
I've been feeling this energy the last several days with Tim Walz. And tonight he measured up to every bit of that with his speech in Philadelphia.
The democrats have that energy once again, and it feels good. Walz on Trump:
"...he'll wake up ( on November 6th ) realizing a black woman kicked his ass, and he'll have to live with that the rest of his life"
Thank you Tim Walz. It's good to have a bit of Harry back with the Democrats again.
