No, not the “go high” advice.
This advice from this year’s DNC speech:
folks, we cannot be our own worst enemies. No. See, because the minute something goes wrong, the minute a lie takes hold, folks, we cannot start wringing our hands. We cannot get a goldilocks complex about whether everything is just right. And we cannot indulge our anxieties about whether this country will elect someone like Kamala, instead of doing everything we can to get someone like Kamala elected.
I see too many people here losing their minds about this poll (the NYT) or that person (Nate Silver).
Listen to Michelle:
It’s up to us to remember what Kamala’s mother told her: Don’t just sit around and complain, do something.
So if they lie about her, and they will, we’ve got to do something. If we see a bad poll, and we will, we’ve got to put down that phone, and do something. If we start feeling tired, if we start feeling that dread creeping back in, we’ve got to pick ourselves up, throw water on our face, and what? [Crowd chants back: “Do Something!”]
And if you just can’t get over that poll or that idiot, listen to Simon Rosenberg
Of course on the very first day after the very Republican heavy NYT poll showing the race where the aggregate polling has says it has been these last few - close and competitive, with us having a slight advantage. Here’s what Morning Consult published yesterday:
And in the key Senate races:
Three new polls released today also show a national popular vote consistent with this battleground data. Harris a 4 pt lead among likely voters (LVs) in a Big Village poll, a 3 pt lead among LVs in a new NPR/Marist poll, and a 2.4 pt lead in a new Activote poll. We enter the debate Harris up 2.8 pts in the 538 average, Dems 2.6 pts in the Congressional Generic, in far better shape among Senate/Gov races in the battlegrounds and with meaningful financial, organization and intensity advantages. In the Morning Consult data note our strength in MI, PA, WI and then the battle for that next state to get us to 270, something we’ve been working on with our now more than $1m invested in our checkmate strategy of AZ, NC, NE-2.
WE CAN DO THIS! Our grandparents fought in the mud to protect us against Nazis. They risked their actual lives. We just have to donate and make calls and send postcards and knock on doors
