There’s probably other Diaries going up around this, but just when you thought no one could out-weird and out-creep JD Vance on these things, Elon Musk shows he’s not to be out-done as the creep in chief. After all it was Vance’s repulsive “childless cat ladies” BS that helped prompted Taylor’s endorsement of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz last night and her sick burn signature for it (as “Childless Cat Lady”). But Musk pushed the creep factor to a new level after the Taylor Swift endorsement of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. No not kidding, these are the literal words in his Tweet:
Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.
Just…. ewwww. How a guy arrives at even thinking something like this, leave alone saying it, and not even totally clear WTF he’s saying….
How does this guy have any appeal again? Like, to anybody? It’s not like Elon even makes good products anymore. Even outside Elon’s shit stirring and repulsiveness, his cars truly suck, most in the market for electric vehicles are actively avoiding Tesla now that so many other brands are putting out great new EV models. Pains us to admit several in our group and families used to be Tesla lovers and owners, but most of us now (even the wealthy-MAGA types among our relatives no less) are either trading in our Tesla’s or selling them before their value completely plummets, with all the good and more affordable alternatives out there. Not to mention how Musk has basically turned Tesla into a stock pump-and-dump scam hypeing up his never fulfilled promises of full self driving (“FSD coming next year, for real this time!”—for the past 10 years), Optimus (Musk literally had a model in a glass box for the Beijing robotics show last month where every other company had fully functioning and amazing new robots doing demos), oh and of course the Robotaxi (Musk still promising it can “run autonomously as it’s own Uber” when he literally shifted his own FSD tech only to “supervised FSD” this month since FSD repeatedly crashes into other cars on the road).
Hyundai/Kia, BMW, Honda, VW, Toyota, Audi, Ford, Polestar, Volvo, GM, Mercedes, Genesis, Rivian, Acura, Lucid, Nissan (and soon even Dodge/Chrysler), there are literally now dozens of better and usually cheaper BEV options now. Hyundai and Kia dominate the EV quality ratings and Mercedes even has mastered the most advanced FSD out there at a full level beyond Tesla. (And our friends and family abroad rave about Xpeng, BYD, Nio and the Chinese brands which apparently have become incredibly good in quality and price—less than $20K in many places for a solid EV.) Mastodon and Bluesky now have a far better “Twitter” platform than the mess Musk has made with Xitter. The Boring company and Neuralink have turned out to be just more vehicles for Musk snake oil. Even SpaceX has become a toxic mess with increasing blunders while other companies both here and in Europe and China up their launch technology, not to mention the irony and hypocrisy of Musk whining about working class handouts when almost all of Space’s revenue has come from government subsidies and payments. (That and stiffing contractors for services they’ve rendered.)
