Yes, I know it is Huffpo, but there will be more. I’m waiting on NPR (MSNBC radio has too many commercials).
The son of John McCain, the grandson of John S. McCain, an admiral in the US Navy, and the great grandson of John S. McCain Sr., also an admiral in the U.S. Navy had something to say about our American dedication to honor and duty. What he said was not partisan, it was revulsion. Revulsion at a Presidential candidate that has no respect for those who dedicated their lives and, at times, gave them, for this country. But it was also a revulsion of the party who enabled Trump. It is not just that he is endorsing Harris, he is quitting the GOP altogether, because he sees it is no longer the GOP we once knew.
The son, the grandson, the great grandson of a long line of Americans who came to this country as immigrants and dedicated their lives in the service of preserving the wonderful country their families and brethren could live in, in peace, harmony, and prosperity, has a message for all of us. We must no longer respect those who have no respect for us.
If we listen, the dam will break.
