Update to include the exact quote from the 2020 debate showing how the word “smart” triggers Trump more than any other:
Biden: "a lotta people died, and a lot more are going to die unless [Donald Trump] gets a lot smarter, a lot quicker."
Trump : "Did you use the word smart? So you said you went to Delaware State, but you forgot the name of your college. You didn't go to Delaware State, you graduated either the lowest or almost the lowest in your class. Don't ever use the word smart with me."
A main goal of the upcoming Sept. 10 debate is for Kamala Harris to get Trump off balance so the American people can see how unhinged and unfit he is for office. While there are many ways this could happen, there is one word she can use in the debate that is virtually certain to trigger him. That word is “smart”.
Joe Biden used it in one of the 2020 debates, and it set Trump off. I don’t recall what specific issue was being discussed, but Joe said something like, “we need to be smart about it.” This made Trump visibly angry and caused him to snap back about how Biden was not qualified to talk about being smart and that he, Donald Trump, was far more intelligent. I wished at the time that Joe would continue baiting him with this word, but alas, he did not.
Kamala could make a similar statement. When Trump rages in response, she could mockingly appear to hold back laughter while commenting on how she seems to have hit a nerve. Maybe even throw in another little dig and see how much of a tantrum she could bait him into. Its not hard to imagine Trump starting to rant about how he graduated at the top of his class at Wharton. Of course, we know this to be false, because the official program from his graduation does not list him among those in his class who graduated with honors. Perhaps Kamala could ask him why his name is not that list. That could really get him going.
This would all have to be carefully planned and rehearsed, but the payoff could be huge. Trump, after all, is a genius. In his own mind. And a very stable one. But he is obviously so insecure about his intelligence that it shouldn’t be too hard to destabilize him. It would be great to see him raging incoherently about his great brain on national TV in front of tens of millions of Americans and all the media. It would really make him look stupid. And demented.#
If Kamala plays it right, it could become the focus of the headlines. It would be smart to give it a shot.
