Supposedly Vice President Kamala Harris is running a “vibes only” campaign for the presidency, and her policy positions are a complete mystery. For the most part, Harris has refused to do sit-down interviews with the major newspapers and news channels.
So there’s just no way to know where she stands on anything! If only there was some kind of platform document that each major political party ratified at their national convention and published on some kind of website, if only…
YouTube content creator Steve Shives doesn’t put it quite that way, but that’s the general gist of the first few minutes of a video he posted a couple of days ago. Then he spends like ten minutes reading a bunch of very specific policy proposals from the Democratic Party platform.
Shives does acknowledge the document was originally intended for President Biden’s second term and still contains many references to Biden as president for the next four years. I don’t think updating those sections was Harris’s top priority. I believe that if there was anything policy-wise that she disagreed with in the platform, she would have asked for it to be changed and it would have been changed.
By the way, Republicans are very clear on Harris’s policies. They lie about what her policies are, but they don’t pretend to be in the dark about them. For example, Rep. John James (R-Michigan U. S. House District 10) claims, falsely, that Harris wants to ban gas cars and send American jobs overseas. Or that her alleged gas car ban will cause American jobs to go overseas. Something to that effect. Whatever.
If you like that Steve Shives video, you might also like the one in which he calls out the Washington Post headline writers for softening the conclusion of a fact check about Trump flat out lying to Gold Star families.
