Worse Than Nixon’s Enemies List
For most of this diary, I will post editorial cartoons celebrating the life and contributions of former President Jimmy Carter, juxtaposed against the antics of our new, incoming overlords.
One was a principled human being with an intense desire to do good. He was primarily defined by decency, integrity, and concern for others. Although his own country didn’t fully appreciate him, he was beloved by millions worldwide.
Lopsided
The other is Donald Trump — a crook, rapist, criminal, misogynist, and one who’s only concerned with enriching himself. Also known as the “Ugly American,” he is despised by much of the world.
History is the ultimate arbiter, for historians are left to determine who was or wasn’t a good President of the United States. While Jimmy Carter’s reputation will continue to improve, I don’t think there’s much that Trump can do to enhance his reputation — both as a human being and a national leader. That die was cast many moons ago.
Our New Overlord
Just this past Sunday, this diary was my earlier tribute to President Carter on the day he passed away — A Gem of a Person — Tributes by Editorial Cartoonists and Others. The diary has almost 70 editorial cartoons in it.

Gallup: “Majorities of U.S. adults think 2025 will be a year of political conflict, economic difficulty, international discord, increasing power for China and Russia, and a rising federal budget deficit.”
Political Wire: It’s been a momentous and challenging year and the future feels increasingly uncertain. With Donald Trump poised to return to the White House and democracy facing mounting pressures worldwide, the political landscape feels more unsettled than it has in decades.
