According to the captured North Koreans in the above caption photos they were made to understand that they were being sent to Russia … for TRAINING. Nobody told them that they were being sent to one of the hottest corners of the hottest war in the world right now. Are they being truthful? Who knows? After all this is North Korea we are talking about. So far the prisoners are talking but at least as publicly released, their interrogation answers do not go much past the proverbial “name, rank and serial number” thing. As well the obvious fact is that they speak and write (the one above with the broken jaw) Korean not Russian. Their Russian passports are bogus and do not even indicate who they really are.
Those two in the caption photos would have probably found ways to se interfecit if they could or if they still get the chance. A North Korean is as an indoctrinated North Korean does. News came today that such unfortunate incidents of self-destruction are becoming increasingly common place among the North Koreans in Kursk instead of allowing themselves to be captured alive. So there’s that large grain of salt to be factored in with whatever those two say.
But between the captured North Koreans and Russian contract soldiers, a few things are becoming quite clear. According to the Russians, the N Koreans are better trained for assaults and have better gung ho spirit for combat.

"While our brigade has not yet captured any North Korean soldiers, Russian prisoners have said they underwent training alongside North Korean military personnel. The captives indicated that the North Koreans were easily distinguishable and received superior training and equipment compared to Russian contract soldiers," he said.

And that is about as far as the building of any form of joint esprit de corps, interoperability, deep coordination of effort and plans go. They do not live together, socialize with each other, eat together, or talk to each other as no serious attempt has been made to overcome the language and cultural gap. Hell, who has time for that sort of woke jib? Putin’s time table is way too compressed for that sort of team building and koumbaya stuff.
It’s all very simple for those poor saps ...hurry up and wait. Then get out there on dem dar frozen tundras of Kursk, and make dem banzai assault charges across open fields against those dug in Ukrainian positions. If somehow you survive, hold your position and wait for your friendly neighborhood Russian contract soldiers to come back you up … that is if they do come. If somehow things go side ways and the Ukrainians corner you and you can’t make a break for it, well you know what to do, right? … for the glory of dear leader?. And they call that “TRAINING”.
The Ukrainians have seen nothing like it … at this magnitude … so far in this war. But one can fully expect them to find a way to make maximum hay out of this Russian-North Korean fiasco of a joint Kursk counteroffensive, er, training. The Ukrainians have already found ways to ratchet up the confusion level to the point where deadly friendly fire incidents among the Russians and the North Koreans are occurring with some unnerving frequency:

ADAPTIVE UKRAINE will not let this kind of gift go to waste and unused. There’s a reason reports indicate that over 3,000 North Koreans have already died fighting in Kursk in the few short weeks since they ill-advisedly entered the Russo-Ukrainian war. Expect more such disasters for the unhappy and unholy alliance of two despotic member nations of the axis of evil.
Oh, and in case anyone has been wondering and even gainsaying why Ukraine made its advance into Kursk. Well the Russians just proved what the Ukrainians have suspected all along … the Russians were getting themselves all rigged up and all set to open a new front on Ukraine’s north eastern border oblasts of Sumy and Chernihiv:
