Big bavovna.
It’s gotten difficult to keep straight all the oil depots that have been hit and set on fire.
All you need is a bottle of gasoline and a lighter.
Another 1,340 Russians.
Not a good look for Scholz.
Baerbock later said she just didn’t see Scholz reaching out to her like that.
Here is an effort to explain what is going on in German politics:
x
1) What is it about? 👇
Basically, Germany's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, and Germany's Minister of Defence, Boris Pistorius, have teamed up to secure an additional budget of around €3 billion for aid to Ukraine before the upcoming elections in February.

Work on this has already been underway for around two months. The funds are to be used to procure urgently needed military assistance, such as additional air defence systems, ammunition and self-propelled artillery systems.
This should not only mean additional military support for Ukraine in the short and long term, but also send a political signal to Ukraine — “You can rely on us”.
2) What are the problems? 👇
There are multiple issues which make the situation really challenging.
Germany is currently in a difficult political situation, the government coalition no longer has a majority in the Bundestag, the major parties are all in the middle of their election campaigns and to top it all off, a single party has a different approach on where to find these €3 billion.
According to a SPIEGEL report, the Chancellery with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) initially blocked the package because he did not want to present the next government (whoever it will be) with a fait accompli.
It is also reported that he did not see any urgent need for action as there are already €4 billion in military assistance secured and Ukraine can in addition rely on the G7 loan financed by the frozen Russian assets.
Zelenskyy is all out of fucks to give about Slovakia’s prime minister, Robert Fico.

😅🇺🇦🇸🇰 Zelensky responded to Fico's offer to meet in Davos with trolling.
"You can't plan anything with the Slovak prime minister, because he can go to Davos and end up in Sochi."
"We don't know who buys him tickets, because he constantly misses his destinations."

Russia killed several Ukrainians in attacks on Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia.
Russia also bombed downtown Kyiv.

McDonald's was one of the first companies to leave russia at the start of the big war.
They continue operating in Ukraine, and today their restaurant--the first in Kyiv, opened in 1997--was damaged by a russian missile attack. The staff is safe.

Ukrainian soldiers near Pokrovsk are not happy that their commander has been replaced.
Soldiers of Ukraine's 48th Separate Assault Battalion spoke out against the replacement of their commander Lenur Islyamov in a video address to Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi published on Jan. 18.
The battalion is currently based in the town of Pokrovsk, a crucial logistics hub for Ukrainian forces that has been the focus of fierce fighting as Russia intensifies its offensive in Donetsk Oblast.
According to the soldiers, they were deployed there 10 days ago after almost a year spent defending another hot spot in the region. Following the redeployment, the battalion learned that Isyamov had been replaced by another commander.
"Changing the commander at a critical moment is a direct threat to the unit's combat capability and undermines the trust of the fighters," the statement read.
Either a Russian commander decided to get rid of his wounded or Russia has reached the bottom of the barrel when it comes to transportation to the front.

russian war criminals in Kurakhove are sticking to their 'traditions.' This time, their loot includes parquet floors and toilets. Apparently, the 'special operation' just doesn’t work without them. Maybe the Kremlin has developed a new kind of weapon: parquet battalions and sanitary artillery

Sounds like paradise.
Naturally, it’s America’s fault that Rabocheostrovsk has so many idle, drunk and delusional folks.

Rabocheostrovsk, Republic of Karelia. Residents say there is no work, all young people drink, and the authorities are in no hurry to build any enterprises.
However, the woman in the video thinks that America is to blame for all this.
This is what many Russians feel, actually.

Russian drones crossed over into Romania.
Putin should remain afraid because sooner or later Ukraine will develop its own nuclear weapons.
A Russian official explains in this video to Russians who fled the town of Sudzha in Ukrainian-occupied Kursk that they are not actually homeless and if they don’t quit belly-aching, he’ll throw them in jail.
And Ukraine exposed a network of Ukrainians acting on behalf of Russia.
Roman Ryzhkov, a resident of the FSB, who is also an active engineer of the Kyiv Metro, was recruited in 2015 in Moscow and "mothballed". During the full-scale invasion, he was ordered to create an agent network to collect data on the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ryzhkov recruited as accomplices a mobilized Kharkiv resident who had previously worked for Ukrzaliznytsia for 10 years and could provide information on the movement of military echelons of the Armed Forces, as well as an international road transport driver.
The traitor Ryzhkov also personally guided Russian missiles at Kyiv. The SBU detained the defendants and they face 8 years to life in prison with confiscation of property.

Fighting is still going on at Vovchansk.
The surviving Russians dismounted & attacked a building where Ukrainian soldiers had established their defense. Ukrainian forces called for backup & engaged in a battle that lasted about 3 hours. With support the paratroopers cleared the building and captured six occupiers.
Should have stayed home.
Rest in peace.

She turned 24 on Jan. 16, a day before she was killed by Russian forces.
In August 2020, Zaitseva participated in the protests in Minsk against alleged presidential election fraud in Belarus. Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko claimed to have won elections by a landslide with 80% of the vote, provoking nationwide protests and a subsequent regime crackdown on dissent.
During protests, fragments of a flash grenade severely injured Zaitseva's arm and head. Her photo from the protests with her face covered in blood went viral.
