This is my first diary. I don’t do this. I’ve never twitted or xcreted. I’m not on Assbook. I have no social media presence.
But, here I am on this day of all days.
I’d like to begin with an anecdote.
At the height of the “Let’s Go Brandon” bullpuckey, I was at an NFL football game. The location can be discerned from my Kos name. Some idiots behind me started the chant. There were about 20 or 30 of them.
So I stood up, turned around and, at the top of my voice yelled
”SIT THE F—- DOWN AND SHUT THE F—- UP!!!
And you know what? They sat down and shut up.
Now part of my success can be attributed to the fact that I am an old white man. How old, you ask? I send Kos a $50 check by snail mail 2-3 times a year. By admitting this, I am immediately known to the folks in his Accounting department.
People like the jerks in the stands are always surprised when someone they expect to be on their side tells them off. But I think the biggest part of it was this:
They knew they were wrong.
MAGA people consist of two groups. The smaller group is greedy bastards who seek power and wealth by taking advantage of the larger group — dumbholes with the emotional maturity of three-year-olds.
Before I go any farther, I would like explain the word “dumbhole.” It is formed by taking two 7-letter words and removing the same three letters from the end of the first and the beginning of the second. Please use it; I would like it to become the 2025 Word of the Year.
Back in the day, I believed that the best way for a cis white man to support the efforts of minority groups in their attempts to achieve equality was to resist doing anything that could be construed as paternalistic.
Today, however, and going forward, I believe that it’s time to weaponize my white male privilege.
I have little or no idea what will happen over the next four years. But I intend to be vigilant against small acts of hate before those brush fires become a conflagration.
I ask you to do the same.
Step in when you see some asshat violating the right of someone else to just exist.
Bullies are cowards. Three-year-olds are seeking boundaries.
Set the boundary. Tell them to sit the f—- down and shut the f—- up.
