Anyone Paying Attention to H.Res. 7?

To women, and the sane men who care about them:

This is my first story (diary?), and while I’m usually content to lurk and comment, this came across my news feed today and I don’t see anything about this after a search of Daily Kos.

This REALLY needs to be on our radar.
 

While Trump distracts us with his brand of crazy narcissism, a resolution was quietly introduced in Congress by Republican Andy Biggs on January 3rd that should be getting more attention.  It’s H.Res. 7, called "Recognizing the importance of access to comprehensive, high-quality, life-affirming medical care for women of all ages. "

A horrible title (doesn’t trip off the tongue), but with regards to helping women, it sounds good, doesn't it?
 

But "life-affirming" is now a fancy way to say "control what health care a woman can obtain", i.e., if she needs an abortion, she is sh*t out of luck because it isn't "life-affirming".

And weirdly, it includes:
 

"Whereas health care for women should also address the needs of men, families, and communities as they relate to women’s health care"
 

Um... why does a bill about women’s medical care need to have a reference to supporting men?  Or is this just a way to get men to have control over the health care of their wives?

Read the whole thing.  It’s not long... about the length of a 7th grader’s book report.  But the word-crafting is horrific.  Designed to slide under everyone’s notice all while setting the stage for completely eliminating abortion AND putting women increasingly under the thumb of the men around her.
 

This is some serious Cro-Magnon misogynistic nonsense from those who oppose women controlling their own reproductive health care and no one is covering it in the news.  Pay attention.
