The DNC is voting for a new Chair on Saturday. Many articles have been written about Ben Wikler on DK, he has a lot of fans here. I wrote a piece at the beginning of the month laying out how to contact DNC members in each state and ask them to vote for Ben. www.dailykos.com/...
Turns out that is easier said than done and was a lot easier a few years ago than it is now. I live in TN and the website for the Democratic Party has changed. There used to be a link to all the officers contact info right by their pictures.
Yeah, that’s not happening anymore. I was able to find one DNC members info but only because she is also a county chair. That didn’t stop me though, I have been sending emails to the generic TNDP website. All month I’ve gotten emails from the TNDP asking for money and I’ve responded by asking them to contact their DNC members and please get them to vote for Ben Wikler. TNDP- 615-327-9779 — hello@tndp.org You can do the same in your state.
Who decides who is the Chair of the DNC?
Officially, it’s a secret. According to the DNC, there are 448 active members of the national committee, including 200 elected members from 57 states, territories, and Democrats Abroad; members representing 16 affiliate groups; and 73 “at-large” members who were elected as a slate appointed in 2021 by the party chairman, Jaime Harrison. For a party that claims the word “democratic” and insists that it is a champion of transparency and accountability in government, the official roster of these 448 voters is not public.
Michael Kapp, a DNC member from California who was first elected to that position by his state party’s executive committee in 2016, told me the list isn’t public “because it’s the DNC—it’s a black box.” He told me that leadership holds tightly to the list to prevent any organizing beyond their control. prospect.org/...
The American Prospect did publish a list of DNC members prospect.org/… but did not publish their contact info which is a shame. I easily found members names but not emails.
Wikipedia has a little background on the DNC en.wikipedia.org/…
The DNC is old school, consultant driven, good ole boy dependent. They still believe money wins elections, not voters. Ben Wikler knows better.

In Wisconsin, we built a permanent campaign—where neighbors organize neighbors, year-round—all over the state.
The model has proven its success, from flipping our state Supreme Court to reelecting Senator Baldwin in 2024.
If I'm DNC Chair, we will use this model nationally.

If we’re going to take on Trump, Republican extremists, and move our country forward, the Democratic Party needs to be stronger. I'm running for Chair of the Democratic National Committee to unite the party, fight everywhere, and win. Join me. 🧵
