Many republicans seem to love name calling. Watching their leaders insult the other side brings them happiness and has lasting entertainment value. Letting their inner demons out to play has become a popular hobby.
Their insults come from the playground where 9-year-olds insult each other’s parents (Your mother is a …). Without baseless insults and accusations, Republican leaders would have almost nothing to say policy wise beyond “government regulation is evil” and “tax cuts are good.”
The President is like a broken record skipping as he repeats canned insults given to him by his advertising team and media consultants.
His hope is to use these insults to maintain Republican control over the government. But as a would-be king and an authoritarian, Republican control now means that he alone will have full control of the government.
His sad enablers in Congress and the Supreme Court are now merely hangers-on. They have the unenviable role of being forced to praise him as they demean themselves in a bid to share a tiny bit of his power.
Watching them bow and scrape before him makes them look desperate and pathetic.
As with other totalitarian leaders throughout the world, they become little more than cheering sections without dignity or power. Their primary job is now to publicly admire their “great” leader and sing his praises.
Republican insults accuse Democrats of being “radical left-wing lunatics”, terrorists, and “haters of America.”
Of course, these are projections designed to disguise the fact that these insults describe the right-wing almost perfectly.
Wanting healthcare for people is not crazy or left-wing but Republicans making it unaffordable seems quite hateful and destructive. Taking away healthcare and heath insurance from millions of people is a perfect example of Republicans hating America and especially of their hatred for the poor and middle class.
Supporting Medicaid, which helps families pay for nursing home care for their elderly parents and lets the poor have access to healthcare is an act of kindness and compassion of a civilized society. It is not hateful, radical, or insane.
But Republicans claim these programs are of no value and call them wasteful and abusive. Almost anything that does not increase their wealth and allow them to lower the taxes of the wealthy is considered wasteful.
They want to eliminate or reduce support for medical insurance subsidies as they do for Social Security, the NIH, rural hospitals, the consumer protection bureau, and any number of other agencies and facilities that help US citizens financially.
The goal of the destruction of the “administrate state” sounds radical, crazy, and vindictive to me.
It is crazy to have such disdain for government when so many Republicans are almost totally dependent on it (although they often strenuously deny this fact, and right-wing news sources will never, never remind them of it).
Republicans are terrorizing government employees with layoffs and threats of layoffs without any reason or cause. More systematic terror activity on their part.
Republican vindictiveness and hatred is in full view as they make anyone who disagrees with them into enemies and deserving of insults.
They want to withdraw money from “blue states”.
This hatred of “blue states” or roughly half of the US population makes them the undisputed party of “haters of America.” Any group who is obsessed with hatred of most of the US population is clearly mentally unbalanced and could be accurately described as mentally disturbed or in more popular terminology “lunatics.”
Disagreeing with Republicans makes people terrorists according to them since it threatens their ridiculous demand that they remain in power indefinitely.
They want power and are terrified of losing it. The Democratic opposition are not terrorists just because Republicans crave power and fear its loss. Calling democrats terrorists is an irrational accusation that only “lunatics”, extremists, and paranoids could embrace.
Their obsession with “the enemy within” seems like a pretty clear on-ramp to the state of paranoia created in Stalin’s Russia where millions were informed on, purged, imprisoned, and killed in the 1930’s.
Almost any psychologist would recognize this as a form of mental illness. Republicans and especially their leadership look increasingly unwell.
Watching right-wing TV, they believe with almost no evidence there are criminals and illegals everywhere destroying “our country.”. They use “immigrants” all the time to mow their lawns, pick their vegetables, and fix their roofs but imagine the same people are somehow a great threat instead of an obvious asset.
They had better look under the beds before going to sleep at night.
Democrats are the terrorists? Be serious.
Republicans voted to support immigration control police with more money than all the police in the rest of country combined. They send armed, masked, poorly trained militia into cities to terrorize and arrest citizens and residents without due process, without warrants, and based on what the compliant Supreme Court now calls “reasonable suspicion” (because of their brown skin or talking with an accent).
This is naked extremism and an over-the-top or radical response to a fake crisis.
Breaking the law by putting troops in cities and ignoring the 250-year-old Constitution which was partly a response to British Troops occupying US cities makes Republicans seem pretty crazy and radical to me as they ignore traditional legal limits. They even criticize judges who rule against them to the point of endangering them with violence from supporters. Again, pretty crazy and radical.
Calling Democrats “terrorists” is clearly meant to try to distract from the fact that Republicans are the obvious sponsors of terror on our streets.
Blowing up boats on the high seas without any clear justification or effort to board and investigate their contents transforms Republicans into terrorists who attack and kill people in international waters without provocation.
So, which of these Democratic programs and efforts are “radical?” Clearly none of them are anywhere near radical.
Maintaining less expensive healthcare insurance, developing infrastructure for clean energy and electric cars, limiting the power of corporations to cheat people, financing the creation life saving medicines and vaccines - none of these are “crazy” or “radical” or the actions of “terrorists.”
They are in fact perfectly rational and represent the government’s actions to support a sane, vibrant, and just society.
Are protestors “radical”? Protests have been around since the beginning of the country’s 250-year history. The right to protest is protected by the Constitution and prized by most rational and patriotic citizens.
Protest is Radical?
Of course, a dictatorial government seeking total control of the population just like the society that exists in Putin’s Russia would consider protestors radical.
But any sane person who grew up in free society would not normally reject the right to protest unless they were scared to death by Republicans such as when George W. Bush made his false claims about WMDs in Iraq and Condoleezza Rice threatened the population with a “mushroom cloud.”
But hatred and fear makes these insults and projections powerful and irresistible for many right-wing supporters.
The fact that these insults and accusations apply to themselves and their party rather than their “enemies” does not occur to them.
Republicans are standing in front of mirrors and hurling insults at the image they see - their own reflection.
I think we can all understand and remember periods of anger and fear in our own lives.
But what is difficult to understand is making these negative emotions into a lifestyle by listening to right-wing media that intentionally amplifies and intensifies fear and anger and causes people to hate other people they know almost nothing about often based on lies or zero evidence.
The right-wing media’s lies about the “stolen election” which were proven in the Dominion Voting System legal depositions and by the nearly $800M penalty against FOX for lying and defamation demonstrate the right-wing media’s willingness to tell big lies repeatedly for months if it makes them money. Newsmax recently paid a $67M penalty to settle the same form of defamation suit brought by Dominion.
The right-wing media has turned insult, lies, anger, and fear of Democrats, aliens, and impure others into a twisted form of entertainment and profited handsomely from it.
