Note: I use a ‘theme’ for my diaries, in an attempt to keep my writings on a cohesive path while I compose the diaries. It is also fun to see comments that fit within that theme. However, here in MOTland, all topics are welcome, it is an open thread. There are no demerits for being so-called ‘off-topic’. Thanks!

This diary selects songs with the word ‘piece(s)’ in the title.
This may be too narrow of a theme, so expand it as you like.

Wikis: One Piece at a Time I Fall To Pieces Piece Of My Heart
===================
"One Piece at a Time" is a song recorded by Johnny Cash in 1976.
The narrator leaves his home in Kentucky in 1949 to pursue work at General Motors in Detroit, Michigan, installing wheels on Cadillacs, knowingly lamenting that he will never be able to afford one of his own.
Beginning almost immediately, the narrator and a co-worker decide to "steal" a Cadillac by way of using their assembly line jobs to obtain the parts. He takes the small parts home hidden in his unusually large lunch box; larger parts are smuggled out in his co-worker's motorhome.
The process of accumulating all the necessary parts turns out to take at least 25 years. Because automakers inevitably make numerous changes to their models, designs and parts over the course of a quarter-century, the result was a hodgepodge of parts from different years and models that did not fit together well.

"I Fall to Pieces" is a song that was originally recorded by Patsy Cline. Released as a single in 1961, it topped the country charts, crossed over onto the pop charts and became among Cline's biggest hits. Cline was initially reluctant to record "I Fall to Pieces" and believed its production lacked enough country instrumentation for her liking. Eventually, Cline recorded the song upon the encouragement of her producer.
After being released, "I Fall to Pieces" did not receive initial airplay. However, through targeted promotional efforts, the song was brought to the attention of several disc jockeys who began playing the track. As the song ascended to the top of the country charts, Cline was injured in a near-fatal car accident. When the song reached its peak positions, she was recovering from her injuries in the hospital and was unable to perform the track for several months.

Piece of My Heart" is a romantic soul song originally recorded by Erma Franklin (Aretha Franklin’s sister) in 1967.
The song came to mainstream attention when Janis Joplin covered the song in 1968 for the album Cheap Thrills and had a much bigger hit,
Franklin's single was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, with the winner to be revealed in March 1969. The award went to Franklin's sister Aretha for the song "Chain Of Fools”.
