Good morning, friends. This morning’s featured artists are the Pointer Sisters. I remember them for their fashion style nearly as much as for their music. They used to occasionally raiding their Aunties’ closets for dresses from the 1940s. Believe me, it was a vast improvement over the styles popular in the ‘70s.
Anyway,

Also, my tiny town had its own No Kings rally yesterday. Of course I had to go. The protest was held on the front lawn of the courthouse. Here, the courthouse is on Main Street, which is also a US highway. At its official start time—it was scheduled for noon to 2:00 PM—we already had exactly 100 people. Someone even showed up in a T-rex inflatable. Fifteen minutes later the number grew to 175. That’s a respectable number for a town with a population of just over 700.
About half the passers by gave us a honk and thumbs up. We cheered them. The other half, at best, ignored us. A few gave us either the thumbs down or the finger. A couple of them tried to start an argument with us by singing Trump’s praises. The majority of us laughed at them. Some were stewing, but they left without incident.
Funny, the only law enforcement we saw was a single deputy who drove past us on Main Street on the way to his destination. He smiled and waved at us. We cheered. There weren’t any uniformed LEOs standing around supervising us. It was probably because the sheriff’s department is headquartered in the other side of the courthouse, d’oh.
Altogether we had a good old time.
We’re always looking for new diarists whether to assume weekly duties or for a one shot deal. Contact either officebss or Ozarkblue if you’re interested.
Now on with the tunes.
So what’s on your mind this morning?
