What are you waiting for?

Dear Virginia Legislators and Statewide Candidates:

Just a month ago we set out to raise funds for each of the 27 candidates in the reddest districts in Virginia to (a) To pump up the vote totals for Governor et al. in the red districts, (b) force the GOP to reallocate resources from other districts, and (c) establish the seeds of Democratic presence in farmer/rural areas of the state — all creating the possibility of a Democratic supermajority in the House.

We have been successful way beyond expectations and now are at $125,550, less than $10,000 from the $135,000 to provide each of the 27 with $5,000 to run a basic campaign.

All of this through Charles Gaba’s Virginia Value Pac 27.

• Virginia has 6 Democratic Congresspersons and 2 Democratic Senators. Four of these have contributed  (Senator Mark Warner, Congresspersons Bobby Scott, Suhas Subramanyam, and Don Beyer). The other four have not.
• Virginia has 72 Democratic State Senators and Delegates: 21/40 Senators & 51/100 Delegates. Seven of them have contributed: State Senators Boysko, Srinivasan, Salim, and Graves, and Marsden, and State Delegates Rasoul and Reid. Sixty-five have not.
• Virginia has three Statewide candidates this year: Abigail Spanberger (Governor), Ghazala Hashmi (Lt. Governor), and Jay Jones (Attorney General). None of them has contributed.
